Indian culture is one of the oldest & unique. In India, there is an amazing cultural diversity throughout the country. The South, North and Northeast have their own distinct cultures and almost every state has carved its own cultural niche. If compared, there is hardly any culture in the world that is as varied and unique as India’s.

India is a vast country with a variety of geographical features and climatic conditions. India, a place of infinite variety, is fascinating with its ancient and complex culture, dazzling contrasts and breathtaking physical beauty.

Children of our country should be trained to appreciate the national beauty, ancient cultures, past history and involve themselves in the progress of the country.

With an objective in the background we at VSSIPS, Mysore Ring Road, Bangalore, hosted RAINBOW 2018, a journey through India, a theme based ‘EK BHARAT’.

The 22rd of December was the D Day on which our Honourable Chairman, Shri. V. Sommanna, present MLA of Govindrajanagar, Bangalore, majestically inaugurated the event by cutting the ribbon and lamp lighting. He was accompanied by Dr. Hanumanth Prasad. M, Professor & Head of the Department, ENT, Mandya. The guests were guided by the chairperson Ms. G. Shylaja; Director Dr. S. Naveen; Secretary Ms. Rekha and Principal Ms. Ishrath Jabeen. The Parents followed the dignitaries in a systematic manner of aligned rooms, that took them to the splendid display of the exhibits and activity rooms of the school.

Our honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modiji’s vision of ‘EK BHARAT SHRESHTA BHARAT’, as one whole plan through the students of grade 1 to 10, in the form of displays of elaborate 3D models, information sheets & colourful dances.

44 classes sharing the theme of Unity, in depicting India, was a splendid sight to the onlookers. Every state was worked on the geographical regions; agriculture; traditional cuisine & culture; artifacts; monuments; important locations; prominent personalities; language; etc. A tour around the exhibits was well-managed with student-volunteers dressed in their respective traditional costumes & greeted parents with a smiling namaste and welcomed them with the language specific.

The showcase of various dance forms of a few states was an appreciable performance. The yoga postures through ‘Shiva Thandava’ form, by the award winning students was the most appreciated performance. Guests & parents were left spell-bound to the efforts of teachers and students.

The objectives of the concept ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ was highlighted, by celebrating Unity in diversity among all classes for the theme. Promotion of national integration, as it was hosted under one roof. Showcasing the rich heritage & and culture through dances, use of the various languages and display of traditional food and art. Overall there was an environment of learning and promoted the sharing of information amongst peers.

To keep the spirits of a carnival entertainment, sports games for health, was arranged for parents and children were very entertaining. To satisfy the hungry crowd, food stalls arranged by students was also a highlight. Fun with a little scare, ‘The scary House’ kept the crowd going with high spirits. Technology & Innovativeness, students with the skill presented robotics and computer games.

Feedback of appreciation poured in by happy hearts at the exit gates. “The two hour visit of India was splendid.”; “I wish I was a child, o be a part of the event.”; “Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat theme was well taken up”, were some of the parents’ feedback.

With the management’s support and the co-operation of the parents, students and teachers, the event was an impressive success.

Grade 7-8-9-10, Outing to Fun World

The day’s trip to Fun World, was bewildering as it was accompanied with heightened energy and participating in amazing dry rides. It was exhilarating post lunch as the students splashed into water & danced to music. The day was packed with excitement and energy.

The word ‘yoga,’ which is derived from Sanskrit, means to attach, join or unite. It symbolises the union of the individual self with supreme self. Yoga is mentioned in the Rigveda, an ancient Indian collection of Vedic Sanskrit hymns. But in the present day, the knowledge of Yoga continues to spread with the popularity of celebrities and world leaders who practice yoga.

The significance of the day, 21st June was taken through by the anchors. The yoga performance was spellbinding & magical. The students systematically performed to the note of the instructor. The performers were joined by the rest of the students & faculty members. The yoga postures were practically demonstrated with their benefits informed. This was an effective session. The knowledge, ‘yoga for the mind’, was imparted.


“Magic represents transformation, change, positivity, positive energy and happiness.” Magic is spell-binding & mesmerizing. Magic makes the souls lighter with enchantment & joy.

The resource person,Ms. Raksha Naik, showed her impressive skills in two sessions. Students were swayed by the magical tricks displayed by her.

She had the children laugh and gasp in wonder at her tricks. The magician created a show that tested the minds of the young students. The students of pre-primary to grade 10 were enchanted with the skills & talents of, on the 27th of July. The students were drawn into a world of joy & magic in the short duration. A few students were invited to share the stage with the magician, it was a dream come true experience for them. The skill of her tricks was kept a secret. Her talent was exposed in a communicative way and resulted in the exhilarated joy among the gathering.

She also gave a word of caution to the students not to try the tricks at home. The Management, and the principal, appreciated the skills of the magician.

Independence day

“Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country!” –Jawaharlal Nehru.
VSS Students, teachers and non-teaching staff celebrated Independence Day with unprecedented patriotic fervor on 15th August 2018. The programme commenced with flag hoisting by Mr. Mallikarjun M. Police Sub Inspector (PSI), Jnanabharathi Police Station, Bengaluru. AISSE toppers were honoured. Students from different classes conveyed the important message of patriotism and national spirit through a skit, dance and patriotic songs.



Chairman Sir Birthday

With desire to wish good health and longer life to our beloved Chairman Sir, a program was organized by the school under the stalwart of Managing Director Dr. B.S. Naveen, all the fraternity members and students conveyed birthday wishes respectively.  It was a delightful moment for our Chairman Sir to celebrate his birthday with a cake amidst students and the VSS family.


World environment day is the most important day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the protection of our environment. Students of VSS celebrated World Environment Day on 5th June 2018 with great zeal WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

Students participated in various programs with enthusiasm on this day. The launch of the school song was an attraction. The cultural program, fusion of talent & music was a splendid display by students. The skit highlighting the harmful effects of the use of plastic, which was informative & gripping. The peacock dance performance was mystical and entertaining. The principal addressed the gathering of students & guided them on the topic for their benefit.

Many events such as skit, collage, symposium, lectures, slogan writing was held on the theme of ‘Save earth and beat plastic pollution.’


Henry Ford has aptly quoted. “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress, working together is success.”  VSSIPS believes that,a leader is a person who motivates others towards a common goals, leading the way by example and creating an environment in which other team members feel actively involved in the entire process.

A true leader works for a cause in the spirit of selfless service and not for applause. Recently students witness leadership at its best when the student leaders for the academic year 2014-15 took official charge in their roles in Investiture Ceremony. On 27th June, was momentous because of the ceremony of enthusiasm. The school flag hoisting & inauguration was a pleasant ceremony.  A formal welcome of the gathering with the leader’s march was a splendid scene. Our students were donn with the badges by the chief guest Sri. Somanna, Ex. Minister, current M.L.A. Govindrajnagar, who inspired the leaders with his wisdom of words. School captains & House Leaders officially swore their duties & responsibilities along with other captains. The leaders promised to render their duties with sincerity & commitment. The inspiring speech by the leaders was appreciated. The program concluded with the vote of thanks and national anthem.
