The South\, North and Northeast have their own distinct cultures and almost every state has carved its own cultural niche. If compared\, there is hardly any culture in the world that is as varied and unique as India’s.\nIndia is a vast country with a variety of geographical features and climatic conditions. India\, a place of infinite variety\, is fascinating with its ancient and complex culture\, dazzling contrasts and breathtaking physical beauty.\n“Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see.”\nChildren of our country should be trained to appreciate the national beauty\, ancient cultures\, past history and involve themselves in the progress of the country. \nWith an objective in the background we at VSSIPS\, Mysore Ring Road\, Bangalore\, hosted RAINBOW 2018\, a journey through India\, a theme based ‘EK BHARAT’.\nThe 22rd of December was the D Day on which our Honourable Chairman\, Shri. V. Sommanna\, present MLA of Govindrajanagar\, Bangalore\, majestically inaugurated the event by cutting the ribbon and lamp lighting. He was accompanied by Dr. Hanumanth Prasad. M\, Professor& Head of the Department\, ENT\, Mandya. The guests were guided by the chairperson Ms. G. Shylaja; Director Dr. S. Naveen; Secretary Ms. Rekha and Principal Ms. IshrathJabeen. The Parents followed the dignitaries in a systematic manner of aligned rooms\, that took them to the splendid display of the exhibits and activity rooms of the school. \nOur honourable Prime Minister\, Shri Narendra Modiji’s vision of ‘EK BHARAT SHRESHTA BHARAT’\, as one whole plan through the students of grade 1 to 10\, in the form of displays of elaborate 3D models\, information sheets & colourful dances.\n44 classes sharing the theme of Unity\, in depicting India\, was a splendid sight to the onlookers. Every state was worked on the geographical regions; agriculture;traditional cuisine & culture; artifacts; monuments; important locations; prominent personalities; language; etc. A tour around the exhibits was well-managed with student-volunteers dressed in their respective traditional costumes & greeted parents with a smiling namaste and welcomed them with the language specific. \nThe showcase of various dance forms of a few states was an appreciable performance.The yoga postures through ‘Shiva Thandava’ form\,by the award winning students was the most appreciated performance. Guests & parents were left spell-bound to the efforts of teachers and students. \nThe objectives of the concept ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ was highlighted\, by celebrating Unity in diversity among all classes for thetheme. Promotion of national integration\, as it was hosted under one roof. Showcasing the rich heritage & and culture through dances\, use of the various languages and display of traditional food and art. Overall there was an environment of learning and promoted the sharing of information amongst peers.\nTo keep the spirits of a carnival entertainment\, sports games for health\, was arranged for parents and children were very entertaining. To satisfy the hungry crowd\, food stalls arranged by students was also a highlight. Fun with a little scare\, ‘The scary House’ kept the crowd going with high spirits. Technology & Innovativeness\, students with the skill presented robotics and computer games.\nFeedback of appreciation poured in by happy hearts at the exit gates. “The two hour visit of India was splendid.”; “I wish I was a child\, o be a part of the event.”; “Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat theme was well taken up”\, were some of the parents’ feedback. \nWith the management’s support and the co-operation of the parents\, students and teachers\, the event was an impressive success. \n“Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured\, as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow. Only through right education can a better order of society be built up.”–Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

It is a day dedicated to our children in order to honor their healthy growth and happiness. Every child is important to us because they are the future of the nation. We would also like to notify you that no classes will be disrupted. A schedule has been planned for no disturbance in the lessons. We are looking forward for a festive children’s day. \n\nWhy is Children’s Day celebrated on 14th November?\nChildren’s day is celebrated in India on 14th of November\, the birth date of Indian First Prime Minister\, Jawaharlal Nehru\, every year. But have you ever imagined why we celebrate this day as Children’s Day? Well\, apart from being a good statesman\, he was immensely fond of children. He was popular among the children as Chacha Nehru (Uncle Nehru) or Chachaji. According to his thoughts\, he considers children as the future of a nation. \nHe believes that children have innocent heart and they win the heart of everyone with their innocent smile and angelic smile. He wished that his birthday would be celebrated as the Children’s Day. Hence\, after his death\, we offer him tribute by celebrating 14th November as Children’s Day. \nHe emphasized the importance of giving affection and love to children and wanted to enhance the growth of Indian youth. Considering the same\, he established premium education institutes such as AIIMS and Indian Institute of Technology. He also made a five-year plan that comprises free primary education\, and free meals plus milk to the school children with the intention of preventing children from malnutrition in India. The fervour and deep love of Chacha Nehru towards the children is the only reason of celebrating the Children’s Day at his birthday anniversary.\nIt is a day when a great freedom fighter and a leader is remembered. He has laid the base to convert an emerging nation into a world power. On this occasion\, several functions are prearranged in schools\, institutes\, and other educational organizations. \nChildren’s day is just not a birth anniversary\, it is celebrated to create a strong and energetic youth\, which lead the future of India and take them to the new heights of success.

It is an important pooja performed by many women in the states of Andhra Pradesh\, Telangana\, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The Hindu festival going by the name ‘Vara maha Lakshmi Vrata’ is celebrated on the Second Friday or the Friday before full moon day – Poornima in the month of Śravaṇā\, also called Śawan in Hindi and Aadi in Tamil which corresponds to the Gregorian months of July–August.
