RAINBOW 2018 -EK BHARAT

Indian culture is one of the oldest & unique. In India, there is an amazing cultural diversity throughout the country. The South, North and Northeast have their own distinct cultures and almost every state has carved its own cultural niche. If compared, there is hardly any culture in the world that is as varied and unique as India’s.
India is a vast country with a variety of geographical features and climatic conditions. India, a place of infinite variety, is fascinating with its ancient and complex culture, dazzling contrasts and breathtaking physical beauty.
“Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see.”
Children of our country should be trained to appreciate the national beauty, ancient cultures, past history and involve themselves in the progress of the country.

With an objective in the background we at VSSIPS, Mysore Ring Road, Bangalore, hosted RAINBOW 2018, a journey through India, a theme based ‘EK BHARAT’.
The 22rd of December was the D Day on which our Honourable Chairman, Shri. V. Sommanna, present MLA of Govindrajanagar, Bangalore, majestically inaugurated the event by cutting the ribbon and lamp lighting. He was accompanied by Dr. Hanumanth Prasad. M, Professor& Head of the Department, ENT, Mandya. The guests were guided by the chairperson Ms. G. Shylaja; Director Dr. S. Naveen; Secretary Ms. Rekha and Principal Ms. IshrathJabeen. The Parents followed the dignitaries in a systematic manner of aligned rooms, that took them to the splendid display of the exhibits and activity rooms of the school.

Our honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modiji’s vision of ‘EK BHARAT SHRESHTA BHARAT’, as one whole plan through the students of grade 1 to 10, in the form of displays of elaborate 3D models, information sheets & colourful dances.
44 classes sharing the theme of Unity, in depicting India, was a splendid sight to the onlookers. Every state was worked on the geographical regions; agriculture;traditional cuisine & culture; artifacts; monuments; important locations; prominent personalities; language; etc. A tour around the exhibits was well-managed with student-volunteers dressed in their respective traditional costumes & greeted parents with a smiling namaste and welcomed them with the language specific.

The showcase of various dance forms of a few states was an appreciable performance.The yoga postures through ‘Shiva Thandava’ form,by the award winning students was the most appreciated performance. Guests & parents were left spell-bound to the efforts of teachers and students.

The objectives of the concept ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ was highlighted, by celebrating Unity in diversity among all classes for thetheme. Promotion of national integration, as it was hosted under one roof. Showcasing the rich heritage & and culture through dances, use of the various languages and display of traditional food and art. Overall there was an environment of learning and promoted the sharing of information amongst peers.
To keep the spirits of a carnival entertainment, sports games for health, was arranged for parents and children were very entertaining. To satisfy the hungry crowd, food stalls arranged by students was also a highlight. Fun with a little scare, ‘The scary House’ kept the crowd going with high spirits. Technology & Innovativeness, students with the skill presented robotics and computer games.
Feedback of appreciation poured in by happy hearts at the exit gates. “The two hour visit of India was splendid.”; “I wish I was a child, o be a part of the event.”; “Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat theme was well taken up”, were some of the parents’ feedback.

With the management’s support and the co-operation of the parents, students and teachers, the event was an impressive success.
